Launch of the “Wasl” Initiative to Support Local Producers and Small Businesses

On Sunday, June 14, the Wasl initiative, one of the youth-led initiatives emerging from the Youth Connect Program, was officially launched during an event that reflected the spirit of innovation and community engagement, with the aim of supporting local producers and small business owners by expanding opportunities for their products to reach wider markets. The Wasl initiative seeks to strengthen the connection between producers and consumers by providing a platform for showcasing and marketing products, alongside support services such as visual identity development, professional photography, and packaging enhancement. These services help increase the visibility of local businesses and improve their opportunities for growth and sustainability. The launch event introduced the initiative’s vision, objectives, and services, highlighting how youth-led ideas can be transformed into practical solutions that respond to community needs and contribute to local economic development. The initiative is one of the outcomes of the Youth Connect Program, which empowers young people to design and implement sustainable community initiatives while strengthening their role in leading positive change. This activity is part of the Youth Connect Program, implemented by Medalah Foundation in partnership with the British Council.
